Spaceship earth, or more commonly referred to as the Epcot ball, has been the iconic centerpiece of Epcot since 1982. Believe it or not this golf ball, as many people lovingly call it, has seen some pretty crazy changes over the last 4 decades. We've seen it become Mike Wazowski for the 24 hours summer days, we've seen the world map and the Death Star projected onto it, and most recently, it hosts Beacons of Magic light show every night. But no change or additions has been as controversial as the giant Sorcerer Mickey hand and wand that was added back in 2000 as part of Walt Disney World's Millennium Celebration. The wand remained in place until 2007 when it was finally removed. It may be gone, but it will never be forgotten and remains one of the quirkiest additions to Epcot we've ever seen.
